Affiliation & Membership

Joining Tennessee HOSA–Future Health Professionals provides students with opportunities to develop leadership skills, compete in healthcare-related events, and connect with professionals in the field. As a member, students gain access to educational programs, scholarships, networking opportunities, and career exploration experiences that prepare them for future success in healthcare.

Affiliation Information

Students become HOSA members by joining their school’s local chapter. Chapter advisors handle the affiliation process and submit all required information on behalf of their students.

Chapter Advisor Affiliation Instructions

  1. Log in to the online affiliation system using your chapter’s national charter number and password. If you used the online affiliation system last year, your password will be the same. If this is your first time using the online affiliation system, submit a support request to receive your password.

  2. After successfully logging in, you will reach the main menu. To access instructions for online affiliation, please click on the first link in the main menu. It is recommended that you review the instructions if you are unfamiliar with the online affiliation system.

$14 per person ($10 national dues + $4 state dues)

Requirements

  • Advisors must affiliate as professional members.

  • All HOSA chapters must be affiliated with International HOSA.

  • All chapters must have a minimum of five student members and one advisor.

  • Only one HOSA chapter is allowed per school.

Types of Membership

  • Middle School

    This type of membership is for middle school students who are in grades 6-8 and are interested in or planning to pursue a career in the health professions.

  • High School

    This type of membership is for secondary (high school) students. Secondary members must pay affiliation fees as established by the local, state, and national organizations, and they are eligible to hold national office, participate in national activities, and, if chosen, serve as voting delegates, and represent their chapter and state in national affairs.

  • Postsecondary & Collegiate

    This type of membership is for students enrolled in a postsecondary/collegiate program. Postsecondary/ collegiate members must pay affiliation fees as established by the local, state, and national organizations, and they are eligible to hold national office, participate in national activities, and, if chosen, serve as voting delegates, and represent their chapter and state in national affairs.

  • Professional

    This type of membership is for health professionals and other adult members of the school and community who wish to assist and support the HOSA program of activities. Professional members must pay affiliation fees, but may not vote, hold office, or compete for HOSA member awards. Chapter advisors are considered to be professional members.

  • Alumni

    This type of membership is for individuals who were previously enrolled as student members in HOSA and wish to remain connected and support the organization after graduation. Alumni members do not pay affiliation fees and may not vote, hold office, or compete, but are encouraged to engage through networking, volunteering, and mentorship opportunities.
